Breaking news from JERUSALEM. Israel’s top environmental minister on 3 March, blamed Iran for willfully causing the tremendous oil spill that raided Israel’s Mediterranean coastline in February, an act the minister termed as “environmental terrorism.”

Gila Gamliel announced researchers from her department had investigated the spill, which officials have characterized as one of Israel’s most crucial ecological disasters, to an unknown Libyan ship.
The tanker had visited an Iranian port before nearing the Israeli coast and, turning off its tracking transponder, dropped its load of thick oil into the surf.
