Immediate Call for Climate & COP26 from October, 31 till November, 12
The 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change kicked off yesterday and will run until November 12.
Before talking about the purpose of this conference, let us recall the outcome of the COP21. Almost every country in the world has made a legally binding emission reduction commitment for the first time. It also set ambitious adaptation and financing goals, recognizing that many people around the world are already affected by climate change and need funding, technology, and capacity building. However, we must admit that these were just conversations, so the current call of COP26 is to stop chatting, and start acting immediately – to limit the rise in global temperature to 1.5 and achieve a positive result no later than 2030. Bill Gates has a very positive outlook on climate change progress and insists that innovation will play an important role in this. Greta Thunberg also attended the conference.
The whole world is awaiting the results of the conference and the start of rapid action on climate protection because climate change is a real challenge for us!
