A 5.9 Magnitude Earthquake Shook Tibet
The earthquake with magnitude 5.9 occurred in the south-west of China, on the territory of Shigadze city of Tibetan Autonomous Region, on Friday.
The epicenter of the seismic event is located at a point with coordinates 28.63 degrees north latitude and 87.42 degrees east longitude. Hypocenter of the element was located at a depth of only 10 km.
China’s seismological authority required relevant agencies to accelerate disaster data collection, respond to public inquiries and cooperate with local authorities in responding to emergency situations.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.7, according to the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of the underground shocks was located 24 km east of the city of Shakar.
